Best Nose Strips?!

Hi everyone,

Today's post is a first impression on Purederm deep cleansing nose strips. This was my first time using a nose strip, as I had heard mixed responses about them working or not. I got them from Holland & Barrett for £2.99 (pack of 6) which I think is really good, as using the more expensive brands like Biore can go up to £7.99! And considering I wasn't entirely sure if they'd work, I wouldn't have been wasting a lot of money if they didn't.

Good news is that they did work very well! I was really impressed and they managed to get a lot of the gunk out of my pores. It was easy to put on and stuck on nicely. I left mine on for about 15 minutes then pulled it off slowly, it didn't hurt much at all as I thought it might. Once it was taken off, my nose felt oil free and smooth and looked clearer (as my pores are quite big so guess they contain more dirt)

I would recommend pulling the strip off slowly and against itself to make sure the dirt and everything comes out properly, on one side I made the mistake of doing it quickly and not getting as much out as the other side! I will definitely be repurchasing, and they had strips for your forehead and chin too which I may try out. I intend on using a strip once a month, as some beauty gurus have said it's not good to use on a regular basis as it can make your pores bigger.

Results from my nose strip
Tips!

- Use hot water to wet your nose before using the strip to open your pores, and cold water to rinse off residue and tighten pores again

- Use a poor tightening mask afterwards to ensure pores are closed and won't get gunky as quickly

Enjoy using them if you do try them out, I find it oddly satisfying!

Top tips for applying mascara!

Hey everyone :)

I think I can speak for all the girls out there who either have a really good eyelash day, or a day when it looks like you have about 4 eyelashes. Today I'm going to share some tips on how I apply my mascara that helps me, so hopefully it'll help most of you.

1) Make sure your eyelashes are free of any old mascara that might've not been taken off the night before. Then curl your lashes before you apply mascara, if you do it after it can make your lashes look hard and the mascara crumble.

2) Take any old mascara that doesn't have much product left, and use it as sort of like a primer. I find using old mascaras helps my current mascara go on better and keeps my eyelashes separated.

3) Choose your favourite mascara, look down into your mirror with your head tilted forward slightly, I find this helps to avoid getting mascara on my eyelid and I can see what I'm doing better. I like to start in the middle, then work my way out and get to as close to the root as possible then swipe the brush up. Whilst doing this, I roll the brush away from my face, as if I'm combing my eyelashes upwards. When it comes to my inner lashes, I use the tip of the brush to avoid clumpy lashes.

My current favourite mascaras to use!

4) If you want a natural look I find doing 1 layer of mascara is fine, however if you like your lashes to stand out like me then I suggest doing a 2nd layer. Don't wait for the first layer to dry as it will be harder to build up.

5) Once you've finished coating your lashes, use some old tweezers and go in between any lashes that are stuck together to separate them, it's best to do this when the mascara is still wet.

I keep spare tweezers to use for my eyelashes only

And that's all there is to it!

Revolution Ultra Sculpt & Contour

Hi everyone :)

This week I'm doing a first impression/review on Revolution's sculpt and contour kit. I hadn't tried anything from Revolution before, but was intrigued to try something as when I've walked past their section in Superdrug, it does look like Superdrug have put a lot of effort into it and have focused on providing dupes for high end products like the Naked palettes, for a very affordable price!

When I purchased this set from Revolution I had such high hopes for this product, and honestly thought I'd be writing a good review for this as I'd seen other reviews on this make up brand saying how good the quality is for the price.. how wrong was I. The set includes a bronzer, highlighter and blush. I mainly got this for the bronzer, as it's matte and not too much of a dark brown for my pale skin. When I applied it, it was so hard to blend and ended up not looking natural, it also looked too dark on me where I wasn't able to blend it out properly, which resulted in me having to remove it and reapply my foundation. Next was the highlighter, I applied it with my finger onto my cheekbones and it was almost like putting nothing on.. it was very subtle and like the bronzer, it was hard to blend out. For anyone who likes a strong highlight should stay clear lol. As for the blusher I didn't bother trying it so can't really comment on it, although I can actually imagine it being better than the bronzer and highlighter for some reason. Aside from that I do really like the colours of the highlighter and blusher, the highlighter was like a champaginey pinky colour, and the blush was a pretty shimmery mid pink colour. I also thought the pigmentation of the bronzer was good, you don't need much on your brush at all to get a natural look (if you can blend it out that is!).

It hasn't put me off buying other products from their range, and I don't think you guys should be put off either, I obviously just picked the wrong product and it may well work for some of you. I would still recommend the contour set or any other make up pieces from their brand, for girls just starting out with make up as it's cheap and won't matter if it doesn't work, you don't like it etc. I think the eye-shadow palettes from Revolution have some really nice wearable colours in, and I would be willing to try them out, and hopefully work a lot better than the contour set!

Revolution is only available at Superdrug.

T/Gel Shampoo For Psoriasis

Hello everyone!

Welcome to my new blog, I will be posting mainly first impressions and reviews on beauty products, and sometimes a few random things as well as fashion. I aim to post roughly once a week (no set day) and most of the beauty products will be drug store as I can't afford high end haha. I hope everyone enjoys :)

My first post is going to be a review on Neutrogena's T/Gel Shampoo, bit of a strange product to be doing my first post on I know. When I was in secondary school I noticed I had a very dry, flaky and itchy scalp at the back, and all the white flakes would end up on my uniform (gross I know). So I went to the doctors and he explained that I had scalp psoriasis which is a skin condition, where the skin cells grow too quickly and end up being flaky and build up on the scalp, luckily I only have it on the back of my scalp. He prescribed me some cream to use and it worked really well and cleared it up, after this I left it and never treated it anymore. However it came back again about a year or so later.

My hairdresser recommended T/Gel Shampoo to me so I took her advice and tried it out. From the first time I used it, I could feel straight away it had helped to get rid of it and my scalp was feeling a lot softer, however it didn't get rid of it completely. I carried on using it each time I washed my hair and in 2-3 weeks it was gone! This product is really good for anyone suffering with scalp psoriasis or even bad dandruff. You can buy it from any drugstore or supermarket and is usually around £4.90. The only fault I have with this shampoo is that it smells quite strong and not that pleasant because of the coal tar, and makes my hair smell of it too even though I use regular shampoo with it too. Other than that it does the job amazingly.
